Our History
Our organization was established in 1986 to meet the growing need for well-trained emergency medical service professionals. In 1992, Superior LSTI was named a Community Training Center for the American Heart Association.
Today, we offer classes for professionals including EMS training and certifications, AHA programs, community classes for adults and special community awareness programs.
Our S.T.A.R. Program
With the S.T.A.R. Program, LSTI is making healthcare education and training more accessible than ever. The program offers financial assistance to eligible Superior employees, helping further their education while continuing their active employment. With S.T.A.R., LSTI is opening doors to new career opportunities while continuing to meet our communities’ needs.

A: Students must be at least 18 years old by the time of certification testing, have a high school diploma or GED, and possess a valid driver’s license or state ID.
Q: How long does the EMT course take to complete?
A: EMT courses last between 12 to 16 weeks, depending on whether the student is full time or part time.
Q: What topics are covered in the EMT class?
A: The course includes instruction in patient assessment, airway management, CPR, trauma care, medical emergencies, and ambulance operations.

A: Yes, CPR certification is included as part of the curriculum.
Q: How much does the EMT course cost?
A: The course is free, as long as the employee completes their contract. There are no additional costs for textbooks, uniforms or other materials.

Q: What certification will I receive after completing the course?
A: Upon successful completion, students are eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam. Passing this exam allows candidates to apply for EMT licensure.

A: Yes, EMTs are in high demand. After completing the course and passing the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam, students have a guaranteed job at Superior.
